Controls:
- Arrow keys: movement
- R: reset position and orientation
- Spacebar: reset orientation
- Esc: Exit
- 1-8: Change camera
I made this in a few hours to test how would a proxy physics could be implemented.
On the top you can see the inside of the creature-vehicle and how the objects inside react to the orientation and movement of the proxy controlled by the player.
This is achieved by transforming the gravity vector (down) to the local space of the proxy. Acceleration is calculated from the previous positions of the proxy.
This simulation doesn't consider angular acceleration.
You can download the project files to check how it was done.
Feedback and suggestions are welcome.
UPDATE: The Compler now has mechanical legs because reasons. (legs not included in the project source)
